Introduction #
This doc explains what cPanel is and the general use of cPanel and it’s features. cPanel has a lot of features, therefore only the basics and requested features are explained in our knowledgebase.
What is cPanel #
cPanel is a web-based hosting control panel that gives you access to the main tools and settings used to manage your hosting services. Instead of configuring everything manually through technical commands, cPanel provides a structured dashboard where you can manage important parts of your hosting environment through your browser.
In practice, cPanel is used to handle tasks such as managing website files, creating or editing email accounts, working with databases, viewing backups, adjusting certain security settings, and managing domains or DNS-related features where included. It is designed to make hosting management more accessible, even if you do not have advanced server administration experience.
At ProRedLine, cPanel is the main control panel used for web hosting, email hosting, and related hosting features. Depending on your package, the available tools and options inside cPanel may differ. Some features may be visible but unavailable, while others may be hidden entirely based on the service you purchased.
In short, cPanel is the main interface used to manage your hosting environment. It brings together the most important hosting functions in one place, making it easier to maintain your website, email, DNS, and related services.
What You Can Do With cPanel #
The features available in cPanel depend on your hosting package, but in general, cPanel gives you access to the main tools needed to manage your hosting environment.
Website Management
cPanel can be used to manage important parts of your website setup. This includes uploading and editing website files, managing domains and document roots, adjusting PHP settings, and in some cases installing or managing web applications.
Email Management
If your service includes email functionality, cPanel can also be used to manage email-related settings. This may include creating and managing email accounts, configuring spam filters, setting up forwarders and autoresponders, and adjusting deliverability-related settings.
Domain and DNS Management
For supported services, cPanel also includes tools for domain and DNS management. You may be able to view connected domains, manage DNS records through the Zone Editor, and configure redirects depending on your package and setup.
Data and Security
cPanel also provides access to tools related to data management and security. This can include managing databases, creating or restoring backups, configuring SSL certificates, and using certain built-in security features.
Why Some Features May Be Unavailable #
Not every cPanel feature is available on every ProRedLine service. The tools and options shown in cPanel depend on the type of hosting package you have and the features that are included with that service.
Some features may be unavailable because they are not part of your subscription, while others may be restricted for security, platform consistency, or service stability reasons. In certain cases, features are also limited to prevent confusion or to avoid exposing tools that are not relevant to your package.
This means that one customer may see options in cPanel that another customer does not, even though both are using cPanel. This is normal and usually reflects differences in package scope or platform configuration.
Features that are disabled or unavailable cannot be enabled manually by customers. If you are unsure whether a function is supposed to be included with your service, please check your package details or contact support.

How Does cPanel Work? #
cPanel is organised as a dashboard with different sections, each focused on a specific part of your hosting environment. After logging in, you can use the interface to access the tools that are available for your service.
At the top of the page, cPanel includes a search bar that allows you to quickly find features by name. This is often the fastest way to navigate, especially if you already know what tool you are looking for. The main dashboard is made up of grouped sections, and each section contains tools related to a certain type of hosting task.
The Domains section is used for domain-related management. Depending on your package, this can include connected domains, redirects, document roots, and DNS-related settings. These tools control how domains are linked to your hosting services.
The Files section contains tools for managing your website files and storage. This is where features such as File Manager, FTP-related tools, Web Disk, and backup functions may be located. These tools are used to upload, edit, organise, or restore files within your hosting account.
The Databases section is used for database-related management. If your website or application relies on a database, this area may include tools for creating databases, managing database users, opening phpMyAdmin, and handling database access.
If your service includes email functionality, the Email section provides access to email-related tools. This may include managing email accounts, forwarders, autoresponders, spam filtering, and deliverability-related settings.
The Security section contains features related to account and hosting protection. Depending on your package, this can include SSL-related tools, IP blocking, authentication features, and other security settings designed to help protect your environment.
Some cPanel environments also include sections related to software, PHP settings, or advanced hosting tools. These are typically used for things such as PHP configuration, cron jobs, application behaviour, or other technical settings that affect how your website or scripts run.
If you cannot find a feature, the search bar should be your first step. It is also important to keep in mind that sections and tools may vary depending on your hosting package. Some features may be hidden, unavailable, or not included at all. This is normal and does not usually indicate a problem with your account.
