Introduction #
In this doc you will find usefull information regarding your Unturned Game Server at ProRedLine. After reading this doc, you’ll know how to configure your server, showing your server on the multiplayer list, and more.
Startup Variables #
Once the server has been created, you will need to configure it before it can run as expected.
On your server’s dashboard, go to the “Startup” tab. Here, you will find several settings that you can configure according to your specific needs. Below is a list of options available for your Unturned server in the “Startup” tab:
- STARTUP COMMAND and DOCKER IMAGE are read-only variables and cannot be modified.
- SERVER NAME. This is the name that will show up on the server list in Unturned.
- (OPTIONAL) SERVER PASSWORD. This is the password required for player to join your server. This can be left blank to disable a server password.
- GSLT. Here, you need to enter your personal Steam Auth Token. You can obtain this token by visiting Steam’s Game Server Management page, logging in, and creating a new token for ETS2. The App ID is 304930. You can choose your own ‘Memo.’ Once done, click ‘Create’ and paste the generated token into the ‘GSLT’ field in your server’s dashboard.
- AUTO UPDATE. This checks for updates upon starting your Unturned server. We recommend leaving this option enabled.
Starting your server #
- Once you have configured all the settings, you can start the server by going to the “Console” tab and clicking “Start”.
- Wait a few moments for the server to boot. When you see the message:
Server Code: <number>. - Your server is fully booted and ready to be joined.
Changing Configurations #
If you wish to change settings not listed in the Variables section, you can edit the server’s config file located at /home/container/Servers/ProRedLineUnturned/Config.json. However, note that any changes to the Variables options in the “Startup” tab will override the corresponding settings in the config file. We recommend only changing values in the config file that are not listed in the Startup tab.
Joining the Server #
Using Server Code #
Joining your Unturned server is a bit different from most games if no multiplayer PORT has been assigned to your server. It’ll not be joinable using the multiplayer screen in Unturned. Scroll down to check how to enable this function through support.
- Once your server has started, you can find your ‘Server Code’ in the console. This ID represents your server.

- The number is your ID. Copy this number to your clipboard.
- Next, we’re going to use this ID to connect to your server. On the home screen, click play > Connect Directly.

- Enter your server ID into the “Host or Server Code” field, optionally enter your server’s password and click “Connect”.
- You’ll now join your Unturned server as normal.
Join using multiplayer tab #
We at ProRedLine need to manually add a second “Port” to your server in order for your server to be joinable on the multiplayer tab within Unturned. Please contact support if you would like this to be done. There are no extra charges for this.
After you’ve contacted support and got notified that a second port has been added to your server, you can check if the changes have been processed. Please follow these steps:
- Open your server’s dashboard and go to the network tab.

- If your second “Port” has been added, you’ll see a second block below your primary network block. If this has not been done yet, you’ll only see the primary block.
It is important to not change anything on the network tab as it can break your server.
Now you can join your server through the Multiplayer tab. Simply search your server’s name in the server list and click join!
Updating server #
To update your server’s software, follow these steps:
- Go to the “Settings” Tab: Open your server dashboard and navigate to the Settings tab.
- Scroll Down: Locate the option labeled Reinstall Server.
- Click on “Reinstall Server”: This will start the reinstallation process.
Important note: Reinstalling your server using this method will update the core files only. Your saved data, mods, and custom configurations will generally remain intact. However, we strongly recommend creating a backup of all essential data before proceeding, as some server types may still overwrite or remove custom content.
Clean Reinstallation #
To fully reinstall your server with a clean set of software and files:
- Stop the Server: Ensure your server is not running.
- Delete All Files: Navigate to the Files tab, select all folders and files, and click Delete.
- Reinstall the Server: Once all files are removed, follow the same steps outlined above for updating your server.
Critical note: This process will permanently remove all files from your server, including custom folders, mods, and configurations. This action is irreversible unless you have created a backup in advance.
