Web Hosting and Site Hosting allow you to connect a domain to your website so visitors can access it via a browser.
The domain acts as the public address of your website.
Correct configuration is required for the website to be reachable.
What Is Required #
To use a domain with Web Hosting, you need:
- An active Web Hosting or Site Hosting subscription
- A registered domain
- Correct DNS configuration
Domain registration and hosting are separate services.
Domain Options #
You can use:
- A domain registered with ProRedLine
DNS configuration is required.
Using a ProRedLine Domain #
If your domain is registered with ProRedLine:
- DNS is managed automatically
- Nameservers are already set correctly
- DNSSEC is enabled by default
Only website-related setup is required.
Connecting the Domain in cPanel #
To connect a domain:
- Log in to cPanel
- Go to Domains
- Add the domain
- Assign a document root
The domain becomes active once DNS propagates.
Uploading Website Files #
After the domain is connected:
- Upload website files to the document root
- Ensure an index file exists
- Verify file permissions
The website will load once DNS resolves correctly.
DNS Propagation Time #
After DNS changes:
- The website may not load immediately
- Propagation can take up to 24–48 hours
This is normal behavior.
Common Issues #
- Domain added but website not loading
- Files uploaded to the wrong folder
- Missing index file
- DNS not fully propagated
Most issues are configuration-related.
What Web Hosting Does Not Do Automatically #
Web Hosting does not:
- Build websites automatically
- Migrate websites
- Fix website code errors
Website content is customer-managed.
Responsibility Notice #
You are responsible for:
- Connecting the domain correctly
- Uploading website files
- Managing DNS where applicable
ProRedLine does not configure websites by default.
