Email Hosting allows you to send and receive email using your own domain name, such as info@yourdomain.com.
To function correctly, the domain must be properly connected to the Email Hosting service using DNS records.
Email Hosting works independently of website hosting.
What Is Required #
To use Email Hosting with a domain, you need:
- An active Email Hosting subscription
- A registered domain
- Correct DNS configuration
All ProRedLine subscriptions include access to the DNS Zone Editor.
Required DNS Records for Email Hosting #
Email Hosting relies on specific DNS records.
MX Records #
MX records define which servers receive incoming email for your domain.
Without correct MX records:
- Incoming email will not be delivered
SPF, DKIM and DMARC #
These records:
- Authenticate outgoing email
- Reduce spam filtering
- Improve deliverability
Incorrect or missing records often cause emails to be rejected or marked as spam.
Managing Email DNS Records #
Email-related DNS records can be managed:
- In the DNS Zone Editor in cPanel
- Or through ProRedLine support if assistance is needed
DNS changes require propagation time.
Using Email Hosting Without a Website #
You can use Email Hosting:
- Without hosting a website
- While your website is hosted elsewhere
Website-related DNS records are not required for email-only usage.
Using External Email Clients #
Email Hosting supports:
- Webmail
- Desktop email clients
- Mobile email apps
Connection details are provided in cPanel under Connect Devices.
Testing Email After Setup #
After DNS changes:
- Allow propagation time
- Send a test email to the domain
- Reply to confirm outgoing delivery
Propagation can take up to 24–48 hours.
Common Issues #
- Emails not arriving
- Emails going to spam
- Old email provider still receiving email
- Conflicting MX records
These issues are almost always DNS-related.
What Email Hosting Does Not Include #
Email Hosting does not:
- Provide website hosting
- Automatically migrate old email
- Guarantee inbox placement
Additional services must be configured separately.
Responsibility Notice #
You are responsible for:
- Correct DNS configuration
- Monitoring email functionality
- Allowing time for DNS propagation
ProRedLine does not automatically fix custom DNS setups.
