A domain registered or managed through ProRedLine can be used with external services, such as external website builders, email platforms or third-party tools.
However, external domains are not supported for use with ProRedLine services.
Supported Scenario: ProRedLine Domain with External Services #
You can use a ProRedLine-managed domain with external providers by adjusting DNS records.
Examples include:
- External website hosting
- External email services
- Verification for third-party platforms
- External APIs or SaaS tools
This is done by modifying DNS records in the DNS Zone Editor.
Unsupported Scenario: External Domain with ProRedLine Services #
ProRedLine currently does not support using external domains with:
- ProRedLine Web Hosting or Site Hosting
- ProRedLine Email Hosting
- Other ProRedLine-managed services
Domains must be registered or managed through ProRedLine to be used with ProRedLine services.
Why External Domains Are Not Supported #
This limitation exists to:
- Ensure DNS consistency
- Maintain DNSSEC integrity
- Prevent misconfiguration
- Reduce support complexity
- Guarantee service reliability
Using only ProRedLine-managed domains ensures predictable behavior.
Using ProRedLine Domains with External Websites #
If you host your website externally:
- Update A or CNAME records to the external provider
- Keep MX records unchanged if using ProRedLine Email Hosting
- Follow the external provider’s DNS instructions carefully
DNS changes still require propagation time.
Using ProRedLine Domains with External Email Providers #
If you use external email services:
- Update MX records as required
- Update SPF records to include the external provider
- Review DKIM and DMARC settings
Incorrect configuration can cause email delivery issues.
DNS Management Responsibility #
When using external services:
- You are responsible for correct DNS configuration
- ProRedLine does not configure external providers
- ProRedLine does not troubleshoot third-party services
Support is limited to DNS functionality only.
Common Mistakes #
- Attempting to connect an external domain to ProRedLine services
- Mixing ProRedLine and external MX records
- Forgetting to update SPF when adding external services
These mistakes often result in downtime or email failures.
Responsibility Notice #
You are responsible for:
- Ensuring compatibility with external providers
- Following third-party documentation
- Managing DNS changes carefully
ProRedLine does not guarantee functionality of external services.
