Removing or detaching deletes or disconnects a WordPress installation from WP Toolkit.
This action is destructive.
Removing a WordPress Installation #
Removing an installation:
- Deletes WordPress files
- Deletes the database
- Removes the site permanently
This cannot be undone without backups.
Detaching a WordPress Installation #
Detaching:
- Removes the site from WP Toolkit management
- Does not delete files or database
- Leaves WordPress intact
Detached sites are unmanaged by WP Toolkit.
When to Remove a Site #
Removal is appropriate if:
- The site is no longer needed
- The installation was created by mistake
- You plan to start fresh
Always back up first.
When to Detach a Site #
Detaching is useful if:
- WordPress was installed manually
- You do not want WP Toolkit management
- You manage the site independently
Detached sites will not receive WP Toolkit updates.
