Email accounts in cPanel allow you to create and manage email addresses using your domain name.
These email accounts can be accessed via webmail or configured in an email client.
Email accounts are available on Email Hosting and Web Hosting packages that include email services.
What an Email Account Is #
An email account consists of:
- An email address, such as
info@yourdomain.com - A mailbox where emails are stored
- Login credentials to access that mailbox
Each email account is separate and has its own password and storage.
Where to Find Email Accounts in cPanel #
- Log in to cPanel
- Go to the Email section
- Click Email Accounts
This page shows all existing email accounts and management options.
Creating a New Email Account #
To create an email account:
- Click Create
- Enter the email address name
- Set a strong password
- Choose a mailbox storage limit
- Save the account
The email account becomes active immediately.
Mailbox Storage Limits #
Each email account has:
- A defined storage limit
- Shared usage within your package limits
If a mailbox reaches its limit:
- Incoming emails may be rejected
- Senders may receive bounce messages
Regular cleanup is recommended.
Accessing Email Accounts #
Email accounts can be accessed using:
- Webmail
- Desktop email clients
- Mobile email apps
Connection details are shown in cPanel under Connect Devices.
Password Management #
You can:
- Change passwords at any time
- Reset passwords if forgotten
Use unique and strong passwords to protect email data.
Deleting Email Accounts #
When an email account is deleted:
- All stored emails are permanently removed
- The address stops receiving mail immediately
Deletion cannot be undone.
What Email Accounts Do Not Include #
Email accounts do not:
- Automatically forward emails
- Provide backups on demand
- Replace external email archiving
Additional features require separate configuration.
Common Issues #
- Incorrect login credentials
- Mailbox full errors
- Emails not arriving due to DNS issues
- Client misconfiguration
Most problems are configuration-related.
