The Domains page in cPanel is where you manage domains connected to your hosting account.
It shows which domains are linked to your Web Hosting or Site Hosting subscription.
Every ProRedLine hosting package includes domain management with a DNS zone editor.
What the Domains Page Is Used For #
On the Domains page, you can:
- View all domains linked to your account
- See the document root of each domain
- Add or remove domains, depending on your package
- Manage domain-related settings
This page controls how domains point to website directories.
Where to Find the Domains Page #
- Log in to cPanel
- Go to the Domains section
- Click Domains
You will see a list of domains associated with your account.
Understanding Document Root #
Each domain has a document root.
The document root:
- Is the folder where website files are stored
- Determines which files are shown when the domain is visited
Example:
public_html/example
If files are placed in the wrong document root, the website will not load correctly.
Primary Domain vs Additional Domains #
- Primary domain
This is the main domain of your hosting account. - Additional domains
These are extra domains pointing to separate directories.
The number of domains you can add depends on your hosting package.
Domain Availability and Limits #
Your Web Hosting or Site Hosting package defines:
- How many domains can be connected
- Whether additional domains are allowed
If you reach your limit, new domains cannot be added.
What the Domains Page Does Not Control #
The Domains page does not:
- Manage DNS records directly
- Configure email accounts
- Register or transfer domains
DNS changes are managed through the DNS Zone Editor.
Common Use Cases #
- Connecting a new domain to your website
- Managing multiple websites under one account
- Verifying where a domain points on the server
Common Issues #
- Website loads the wrong content
- Files placed in incorrect directories
- Domain added but DNS not pointing correctly
- Domain limit reached
Most issues are related to document root configuration or DNS.
Responsibility Notice #
You are responsible for:
- Correct domain configuration
- Managing website files in the correct directory
- Understanding package limits
ProRedLine does not automatically adjust document roots.
