When you register a domain, the domain is owned by you as the customer, not by ProRedLine.
This applies to all domain registrations made through ProRedLine.
ProRedLine acts as a service provider and technical intermediary, not as the domain owner.
Who Owns the Domain #
The domain is legally owned by:
- The individual or company listed as the registrant
- The entity that paid for and registered the domain
Ownership is recorded at the domain registrar and registry level.
ProRedLine does not claim ownership of customer domains.
Role of ProRedLine #
For domains registered through ProRedLine, ProRedLine is listed as:
- Technical contact
- Abuse contact (in addition to the registrar’s abuse contact)
- Reseller
This allows ProRedLine to:
- Provide DNS and hosting services
- Respond to technical issues
- Handle abuse reports related to hosted services
These roles do not grant ownership rights.
What ProRedLine Can and Cannot Do #
ProRedLine can: #
- Manage DNS services when provided
- Assist with technical configuration
- Act on abuse reports related to hosting
ProRedLine cannot: #
- Transfer a domain without owner authorization
- Change ownership without consent
- Claim legal control over the domain
Ownership remains with the customer at all times.
Customer Responsibilities #
As the domain owner, you are responsible for:
- Providing correct registrant information
- Keeping contact details up to date
- Renewing the domain on time
- Complying with registry and registrar policies
Failure to meet these responsibilities can result in domain suspension or loss.
Domain Usage and Hosting #
Owning a domain does not automatically include:
- Website hosting
- Email hosting
- DNS services
These services are provided separately and require active subscriptions.
Domain Transfers and Authorization #
Only the domain owner can:
- Request a transfer
- Approve transfer authorization codes
- Approve ownership changes
ProRedLine assists with the technical process but does not initiate transfers on its own.
Abuse and Legal Notices #
If abuse is reported:
- ProRedLine may be contacted as technical or abuse contact
- The domain owner remains legally responsible for content and usage
ProRedLine may take action on hosted services if required by policy or law.
Responsibility Notice #
You are responsible for:
- Legal ownership of the domain
- Proper domain use
- Compliance with applicable laws and policies
ProRedLine does not assume liability for domain misuse.
