The DNS Zone Editor allows you to manage DNS records for your domain.
DNS records control how your domain connects to websites, email services and external providers.
All ProRedLine subscriptions include access to the DNS Zone Editor.
What the DNS Zone Editor Is Used For #
The DNS Zone Editor is used to:
- Point a domain to a website
- Configure email delivery
- Verify domains for external services
- Connect third-party platforms
DNS changes take effect after DNS propagation.
Where to Find the DNS Zone Editor #
- Log in to cPanel
- Go to the Domains section
- Click Zone Editor
You will see all DNS records for your domain.
Available DNS Record Types #
Customers can manage the following record types:
Basic Records #
- A
- AAAA
- CNAME
- TXT
Advanced Records #
- SRV
- CAA
Email Records #
- MX
These records can be edited directly by the customer.
Nameservers and Glue Records #
Nameservers and glue records cannot be edited by customers.
At ProRedLine:
- Nameserver changes are not supported by default
- Glue records are not provided
- Custom nameservers are not offered as a standard service
In rare and justified cases, nameserver changes may be handled manually via support.
Why Nameserver Access Is Restricted #
Restricting nameserver changes:
- Prevents domain misconfiguration
- Protects DNSSEC integrity
- Reduces service outages
- Ensures platform stability
Most use cases do not require custom nameservers.
DNS Changes and Propagation #
All DNS edits:
- Apply after propagation
- May take up to 24–48 hours to fully resolve
- Are cached by external DNS providers
Do not make repeated changes during propagation.
Common Use Cases #
Typical DNS changes include:
- Pointing a domain to Web Hosting
- Setting MX records for Email Hosting
- Adding TXT records for verification
- Configuring SPF, DKIM and DMARC
Common Mistakes #
- Attempting to change nameservers in cPanel
- Adding duplicate DNS records
- Incorrect record values
- Making multiple changes at once
These issues can cause websites or email to stop working.
Responsibility Notice #
You are responsible for:
- Making correct DNS edits
- Understanding propagation delays
- Avoiding unsupported configurations
ProRedLine does not automatically correct DNS misconfigurations.
