Before you can send or receive email, you must create an email account in cPanel.
Each email address on your domain is created and managed individually.
Email accounts are available on Email Hosting and Web Hosting packages that include email services.
What You Need Before Creating an Email Account #
Make sure:
- Your domain is active
- Email Hosting is included in your subscription
- You have access to cPanel
DNS configuration should already be in place.
Where to Create Email Accounts #
To create an email account:
- Log in to cPanel
- Go to the Email section
- Click Email Accounts
This page shows existing email addresses and creation options.
Creating the Email Account #
To create your first email account:
- Click Create
- Enter the email address name
Example:info - Select the domain
- Set a strong password
- Choose a mailbox storage limit
- Save the account
The email account becomes active immediately.
Choosing a Storage Limit #
You can:
- Set a fixed storage limit
- Or allow unlimited storage if available in your package
Setting limits helps prevent mailbox full issues.
Password Best Practices #
Use a password that:
- Is unique
- Is not reused elsewhere
- Includes letters, numbers and symbols
Weak passwords increase security risk.
Accessing the New Email Account #
After creation, you can:
- Log in via webmail
- Configure the account in an email client
- Use mobile email apps

Verifying Email Functionality #
After setup:
- Send a test email to the new address
- Reply from an external email account
- Confirm both sending and receiving work
If DNS was recently changed, allow propagation time.
Common Mistakes #
- Forgetting the full email address as username
- Setting mailbox limits too low
- Using weak passwords
- Attempting login before account creation
